Oriented strand board (OSB) is manufactured in wide mats from cross-oriented layers of thin, rectangular wooden strips compressed and bonded together with wax and synthetic resin adhesives. We have many different classifications of OSB based on the quality of the resin adhesives, category 3 is the best one available.
OSB most common uses are as sheathing in walls, flooring, and roof decking. Now more popular than plywood, it's highly used in panels for DIY purposes.

Manufacturing: you can drill with common bits for wood, make cuts and millings with different tools such as circular saws, jigsaws, milling machines.
It's recommended the use of Widia tools because the resins inside OSB quickly use up the tools.
Use: thanks to the elevate mechanical resistance and its low cost, OSB is particularly indicated for supporting structures and it's widely used in construction industry.
